How To Grow Wheatgrass

The fastest and most efficient way to grow wheatgrass at home.
Wheatgrass
is extremely beneficial to your health and wellbeing. It is rich in essential nutrients, vitamins and amino acids. Growing wheatgrass is extremely cost efficientfast, and is probably the easiest thing you’ll ever have to do. If you’re willing to invest just a few minutes each day for 12 days, then you’re on your way to better health. There are two phases for growing wheatgrass; the first is the “setting up the foundation” phase and the second is the “maintenance” phase.
Please follow the guidelines below.

What you’ll need (for 1 tray of wheatgrass):

  • Wheat grain (395grams)
  • Small Container/ bowl (to pour the seeds into)
  • 2 trays
  • 1 drip tray
  • 1 Cleaning Cloth Domestic Wipes (to cover the base of the tray)

PHASE 1: Setting up the Foundation

Step 1: Soaking the Wheat Grain

Pour 395 grams of wheat grain into a container and soak it with water for around 8 hours.

Step 2: Creating the Foundation

  • After 8 hours of soaking the wheat grains
  • Grab a Domestic Wipes Cleaning Cloth and soak it with water.
  • Grab the drip tray and cover the base with the soaked cloth.
  • Place that drip tray onto a tray (as shown in the image below).
  • Grab the soaked wheat grain and drain the water out.
  • Pour the seeds onto the tray, dispersing the seeds evenly throughout the tray.

Step 3: Cover the Tray

The last step is to grab another tray and place it over the previous tray covering it completely.

Note: Make sure to keep the tray in a cool and dry environment, i.e. Somewhere shady.

PHASE 2: Maintenance

Phase 2 is the maintaining and growing phase of the grass. You’ll need to water the wheat grain everyday to keep it moist and nourished.
For the first 3 days you want to still cover the tray completely. On the 4th day you should notice around 2-3 centimetres of growth, the covering of the tray is no longer needed at this point. All you need to do is to water the wheatgrass regularly for 12 days.

Note: Since there will be excess water on the tray from the watering, simply remove/drain the water out of the tray and place the drip tray (tray with the wheatgrass) back on.
Also an important note is to not go overboard with the watering, just make sure to cover every area with water (but don’t overdo it as it is really unnecessary).

Once you’ve created your first tray of wheatgrass, you should start considering creating your next tray within 3 days. The reason being is because once you juice the wheatgrass, the juice can be stored up to 72 hours without degradation. It takes approximately 12 days until the wheatgrass is matured enough to be cut and juiced. Once you’ve consumed all of your wheatgrass juice, you’ll have another tray ready for juicing.
